So that’s where the art room’s pink paint went! In this photo, a group of students are painting the Whoo Houses for the 2nd floor’s Grinch theme. While what they’re doing looks small, it’s all about how it comes together. “I’ve put up a lot of the poster paper, and I’ve done these signs, and painted cardboard,” Said student Joslynn Seyler, who can be seen in the back.

Every year, it is tradition that students and staff gather for the Christmas season with one shared goal in mind. Victory. Paper is torn, tape is scattered, and holiday lights burn bright. December of 2023 is no exception to the annual Christmas hallway decorating contest. Each hallway is at war, and students are encouraged to help set up so they can knock down the competition. From freshman to seniors, many people come together to put up these impressive displays. Last year’s winner was the cooking hallway, but this year it could be anyone’s game.

Not only are these displays impressive, but with such a tight budget students and staff have to be innovative to make the things they want with the resources they have. “A student brought us the Christmas tree, the paper comes from the teacher supply room, and the creativity comes from the kids and teachers,” said sophomore math teacher, Mrs Corbett.

While working on the 2nd floor’s Grinch themed hallway, Freshmen student Kaiya Gragg Said,  “We’re doing the painting of the buildings and the props. Bringing in the trees and lights, making the Who houses.” Students, mostly during Mustang Connections, have been coming together to bring the Christmas spirit into their everyday school days.
