Natrona County High School hosted a press conference today for Hunter Borud and Gage Brooks, who signed their letters of intent to participate at the college level. Borud signed with Dickinson State University in North Dakota where he plans to play football as a Hawk. “They have a really nice facility and a great culture just like NC,” said Borud. “I think it’s always been a place where I feel like I belong.” He brought up how Coach Grogan’s instilled values of hard work and character will continue to help him as he continues his football career while studying exercise science at Dickinson. Borud was a top performer on the NC Mustangs’ offensive line and was voted all conference for the 2024 season.
Brooks signed with Chadron State College in Nebraska for both football and track, where he plans to study agricultural business and animal science. “My dad grew up in Nebraska and played at Chadron,” said Brooks, “so I’ve been close with that coaching staff for a long time.” Brooks mentioned that besides the coaching staff, the facilities were also a major factor in his decision. “The facilities there are really nice. It’s one of the best Division II facilities they’ve got so it really feels like a blessing I’m able to go there and participate and be around all the coaching staff.” Brooks finished his high school football career as a formidable receiver for the Mustangs and was also voted all-conference.
