NCHS journalism students recently attended the Wyoming High School Student Press Association Conference held on the campus of the University of Wyoming in Laramie.  Natrona County students Hunter McDaniel, Calla Shosh, Hailie Wilhelm, Akasha Redwing, Tanner Bower, Josie Davison and Alyssa Terry brought home awards for their publication skills.

Bronze Stars went to Redwing for Writing, McDaniel for Design, Bower for Design, and Terry also received a Bronze Star for Design.

The Silver Spur awards were given to Wilhelm in Writing, McDaniel in Writing, and Davison for Design.

The Golden Pony was awarded to Shosh for her talents in Writing.

The All State Runner up in writing was McDaniel, and the All State Champion in Writing was Calla Shosh. “I was at school when someone told me, and I was shocked,” said Shosh. She plans to pursue a career in journalism and has recently begun the process of applying for scholarships.

If you happen to see any of these students in that hall, give them a pat on the back. Publishing one’s work takes both courage and humility, and these students exemplified both!
