Walleye Stampede Begins in Wyoming

May 14th at Glendo Reservoir saw the start of the 14th annual Walleye Stampede. Remaining events are June 4-5th at Glendo, June 25-26th at Pathfinder, and the championship will be held at Seminoe July 16-17th.

Entry fee is $420 per team each event, $20 of which will be put into the champions pot. Participants can only have teams of two people. The payouts go to the top 20 winners, 20th place payout being $400 and progressively increases to $10,000 for 1st place. Brian Woodward, the manager of Rocky Mountain Discount Sports in Casper Wyoming, helps run the Walleye Stampede. Running the tournament takes a lot of thought and planning but was originally started since “there was a need for competition and people wanted to share that camaraderie,” says Woodward.
