The NCHS Theatre Department will present CHICAGO: TEEN EDITION, Book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, Music by John Kander, Lyrics by Fred Ebb. It is showing at the NCHS John F. Welsh Auditorium on  May 5,6, 12, 13, & 14 at 7 p.m. and May 14 at 2 p.m. Admission is free.

Chicago is one of the longest running musicals in the country. Set in the jazz age and based on the true court trials of Beluah Annan and Belva Gaetner, it features jazz aged music and costumes, as well as themes of corruption, greed, and celebrity crime. Some of the main characters in the play are Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly. Both Roxie and Velma are arrested for killing and are sent away to prison. A lawyer known as Billy Flynn decides to take the women’s cases and from there they get attention from the media.

“The live music, the singing, the choreography, like all the dancing we do is insane, the outfits are amazing too,” says cast member Abigail Nguyen. Don’t miss what is sure to be an epic production!
