Senior Alesha Lane recently signed with the New Mexico State Aggies to participate in Track and Field. Schoolmates, family, friends, and coaches watched her sign and cheered her on in the commons area at NC. “I appreciate every single one of these people. They’ve been a big part of my journey, so I’m very blessed for all of them,” said Lane.

Lane explained she had several schools to choose from but settled on New Mexico after speaking with the coaches, who spoke with her extensively about the school’s philosophy and what it stood for. “They sold me right away,” said Lane.

She plans to study elementary education, citing several educators in her life who inspired her. Lane’s skill set, character, and work ethic are what any university would look for in a recruit. She credited her coaches at NC with helping her grow over the years. NCHS wishes her the best!
