Have you ever talked to someone and your eyes kept shifting to different areas? Then you might have some trouble with eye contact. Many teens have a hard time with eye contact. They struggle with talking to other people and keeping eye contact. Eye contact is keeping your eyes focused on the person who you are talking to. This can be useful and gives yourself more confidence. Keeping eye contact will make you feel like you are more confident and trustworthy. This can also be helpful when asking someone out.

Have you ever talked to someone and you turn your eyes away because you think they don’t want to have eye contact? If they do it too they might be thinking the same thing. Confidence helps a lot in eye contact. The reason behind this is most young adults are scared of rejection from someone else. That’s why sometimes you switch your eyes to something different.

You could also change eye contact into staring which is why you wait for the appropriate time to shift your eyes. Staring can be off putting to people and unsettling.

Keeping eye contact is good but take breaks during the conversation and look away for a little then come back. You also don’t want to have eye contact with both eyes cause then it’s like laser point on their eyes. Instead bounce from each of their eyes so it’s a little easier. If you’re out of words and trying to gather your thoughts you can look away.

If you are trying to ask someone out, just giving eye contact with a smile makes you more attractive. Eye contact can also help you get a job. If you keep normal eye contact with the interviewer you look dependable and better.

Eye contact may seem hard to improve but you just need practice and soon you will be a pro.
