As the 2020-2021 school year progresses and comes to an end, NCHS teachers start to announce their retirements. There are 5 teachers retiring this year at Natrona County High School. A lot of students are heartbroken over these teachers leaving since they have had unique teaching skills that the students understand. Overall, the teachers have amazing classes that the students love. One of the teachers who is retiring is Bryan Olson; he has been a teacher for physical education for 32 years. According to Olson his favorite thing about teaching is spending time with and teaching kids. He is retiring because he wants to move on and try something new while fairly young.

Another one of the teachers retiring is Lisa Gray. She is retiring so that she can spend more time with family. She is looking forward to spending time with her mom and sister. She is also going to be writing books and raising chickens, pygmy goats and alpacas. She has been a teacher for 34 years. She has taught grades 9-12 (including IB) English, newspaper, yearbook, Spanish, Speech and Debate, and Holocaust Lit. as well as Theater. She’s  also coached basketball. She has been a highlight to Natrona County High School and she has managed the school website. When interviewed, Gray said “she is mostly going to miss the students and lastly her favorite thing about teaching has been being with the students and seeing the light go off with them when they make the connection to things they don’t understand.”
