Clubs and activities are a big part of NatronaFest at NC. The annual celebration is a chance for these school organizations to put themselves out there, try to get new members, and show what their clubs are about. It is a fun and exciting part of the school’s history that helps give recognition to the clubs and all of the students and faculty.
The annual NatronaFest provides a vibrant platform for student clubs to showcase their activities and recruit new members. Students like Nyomi Kooser, a senior involved in the Dungeons & Dragons club, emphasized the importance of clubs in creating social connections.
“I didn’t have friends until I went to D&D” said Kooser. This highlights how extracurricular activities can help students build relationships beyond the classroom.
Club representatives work to break down stereotypes and demonstrate the unique value of their organizations. For the D&D club though, the strategy involves showing students that the group is more than just a typical stereotype.
“We’re trying to make ourselves more visible,” said Kooser. “People think it’s cringe, but it’s really not.” Kooser stressed that students should try a club before criticizing it, because don’t know what it’s really like on the inside until they try it.
NatronaFest allows clubs to set up tables, interact with potential new members, and share their passion for various activities. Football remains the most popular sport in terms of attendance at games, but clubs like D&D seek to attract students looking for alternative social experiences.
As students wander between displays, the energy of NatronaFest showcases the diverse interests and talents within the school community.
