Mr. Mustang is a time for enjoyment and laughter. Events like Mr Mustang are especially important in these dark times. Since COVID-19 hit it was very difficult for the school to put on any productions. This event raises money for The Angel Fund. This event is a fundraiser that helps NC students in need. The Angel Fund provides  Christmas presents, clothes, school things, and more. Mr. Mustang is, to put it simply, a male beauty pageant. It involves 16 young men from NC competing in: a line up, a group dance, individual talents, and answering single questions from the judges. Then, for the Angel Fund each one of the boys had a jug, and people were able to donate money based on their choice out of the boys.

Mr. Mustang’s winners were: 1st runner up Harrison Taubert (12), 2nd runner up Rhett Buhler (12), 3rd runner up Nathaniel Saucedo (12), Mr. Congeniality was Billy Brenton (11), and finally Mr. Mustang is Bridger Myers. Bridger Myers(12), Mr Mustang, explained why he participated in Mr. Mustang. Myers said he watched people do it in the past and he wanted to represent the student council in a fun way as student body president. Myers felt overwhelmed and very excited when he won, as it was something he wanted to do for a while. The hardest part for him though, was his anxiety to get on stage and do the talent and pick-up lines.

Billy Brenton(11) Mr. Congeniality explained the extreme amount his friend wanting him to do Mr. Mustang as the reason he did it. So when he won the title of Mr Congeniality,  he felt good, aside from the technical difficulties earlier in the night.

Nathaniel Sausedo(12) 3rd runner up, thought that this experience was pretty much just for fun and it was a good cause. Then he said placing was very fun, but he was just glad a lot of people donated for the Angel Fund. Sausedo also said the whole thing wasn’t extremely difficult; he was just having fun, and got to spend time with friends.
