The NCHS Filly Basketball team looks to be stringing together a great season so far. Going into the 12th week of the season, their game record is 11-5. Reflecting on the start of the season up until now, head coach Brian Costello mentioned that his team is improving in both teamwork and individual skills. Most importantly, they are “getting better at playing together.”

Senior Katelynn Campbell, #0, is a top player in the NC Fillies. Campbell plays the position of Point Guard and Shooting Guard. Something Campbell worked on since the last game was her personal effort put towards basketball. “A personal goal I’ve reached since my last game is my improvement in finishing at the basket” explained Campbell. She has also taken note of the team’s progression as well. “Some improvements I’ve seen in my team since the last game is the ball movement and team continuity. We’re starting to improve on working as a team and forming a healthy team bond.”

Another player, Senior Emma Patik, #23, expressed how the team’s effort is going into this next game. She says “We’ve had a really good week of practice, we’ve put in a new offense that gets us moving, and working together as a team.” Patik says that the team “is looking the best that it has all year!” Similar to Campbell, Patik plays point guard and is looking forward to this next game. Patik says her goal is “to have fun with my team and to compete and make it to the state tournament and play for a state championship title!”

The NC Fillies have been working hard for this next game and the win. They will be playing at Star Valley this Friday at 6pm.
